This is a beautiful lens for both close up and general use. It is sold as a macro lens and provides 1:2 magnification without accessories (or 1:1 with the accessory extension tube). It is extremely sharp at close magnification and benefits further from a nearly flat field, which means that the plane of focus is a flat plane rather than being a curve (this is very important when doing reproductions of flat objects like artwork).

The lens is not just a specialist lens though. It is very well suited to general photography and is one of the sharpest lenses in the Mamiya line. The close focusing ability means that in general use you never have to worry about getting too close and being unable to focus.

This is the latest “N” version of this excellent lens.

The glass and all functions are perfect and the lens is lightly used.
